NG 568

New game 568 is now available.

Round 1: A U A D S H R C A

I spotted CHADURS a bit too late.  (Actually, I was torn between CHADURS and CHADARS as the spelling; it turns out that my Scrabble list has CHADAR but not CHADUR, while the Macquarie has CHADUR and CHADDAR, but not CHADAR.)

My selection: DACHAS
Best: CHADURS

Round 2: T A E G O F H R T

My selection: FROTTAGE

Round 3: Target 204 from 75 25 3 5 4 9

My selection: 204 = 3*75 - 25 + 4

Round 4: L R N I E A M N I

My selection: MAINLINER

Round 5: W F O L C E U B A

WOLF CUB is listed, but as two words.  BEOWULF is proper, of course.

My selection: WOEFUL

Round 6: Target 723 from 75 50 10 1 4 5

The target is unreachable, so one off is the best to be done.

My selection: 724 = (5 + 4)*75 + 50 - 1

Round 7: E E A I P S T B D

I saw BEADIEST a little too late also.  I've had a spate of that recently, it seems.

My selection: DEBATES
Best: BEADIEST

Round 8: Target 727 from 50 25 75 1 4 9

My selection: 727 = 9*(75 + 4 - 1) + 25

Round 9: RAPID PINE

My selection: [N/A -- conundrum chosen explicitly]
Best: DRAINPIPE

SHARD (wasn't sure about CHARDS, but there you go..)
FATTER (hadn't heard of FROTTAGE either)
(5-3)*(75+25)+4=204
MANLIER
BOWEL
Louise's way and then added 5 for 725 (2 off)
BASTED then BAPTISED, probably over time
(9+1)*(75-50/25)-4=726 (1 off)
x

FROTTAGE and BAPTISED were good finds.

1. DACHAS
2. FROTTAGE
3. 204 = 5*25 + 75 + 4
4. MAINLINER
5. CABLE
6. two off: 721 = 75*10 - 50 +5*4 + 1. Frustrating one.
7. BEADIEST
8. 727 = (75+4-1)*9 + 25
9. 58.6s - DRAINPIPE

Well done on the full monty Sam! I also loved your solution to round 8.

Some good finds here; I particularly liked CHARDS and BAPTISED. And I agree, Sam, round 6 was annoyingly difficult.

Ditto Geoff!

Cheers Mike. When there are several large numbers in the mix, if you can get to the stage where you know a lot of modulo 25 results, it really comes in handy.
