Round 1: L W I B E I M U N

I had BILE, NUBILE,and NIMBLE.

Six is the best to be done; the others are MILIEU and WIMBLE ("a device in mining, etc., for extracting the rubbish from a bored hole").

Round 2: S B R S S A E T O

I had BRASS, BRASSES, BASTERS / BREASTS, and SORBATES / BOASTERS.

The other eight is ASBESTOS.  The other sevens are SORBATE / BOASTER / BOATERS / BORATES, SORBETS / STROBES, ASSERTS / TRASSES (TRASS being a type of rock), ASSORTS, BASSEST / BASSETS, TOSSERS, BOSSEST / BOSSETS (BOSSET: "the rudimentary stub of a horn or antler on a young deer"), and SEROSAS (SEROSA: "a serous membrane").

My selection: BOASTERS


Round 3: Target 632 from 100 6 9 1 2 10

I started by looking at 600, but overlooked 632 = 6*(100 + 9) - 2*(10 + 1).  So I looked at working down from 700, and was about to write down 632 = (6 + 1)*(100 - 10) + 2 when I realised that I could make the 90 in alternative fashion to avoid the large number entirely: 632 = (6 + 1)*10*9 + 2.

My selection: 632 = (6 + 1)*10*9 + 2


Round 4: C L E G A N O C F

I had CAGE, GLACÉ, ANGLE, CONCEAL, and CONGEAL.

CONCEAL and CONGEAL are the only sevens.  The sixes are CANCEL, FALCON, GLANCE, COGNAC, FLAGON, and FLANGE / FANGLE.

Round 5: O T D S E K A P R

I had DOTS, DOTES, STOKED, DARKEST, STROKED, and SPORTED.

The eight here is ADOPTERS.  The other sevens are ADOPTER, DESKTOP, DEPORTS, SPARKED, DEPARTS / PETARDS, ROASTED / TORSADE ("a twisted cord") / DOATERS* (DOAT is listed as a variant spelling of DOTE, and DOTER is listed as a derived form of DOTE), PROTEAS / SEAPORT / ESPARTO (a type of grass), and KOTARES (KOTARE being a type of sacred kingfisher).

Round 6: Target 250 from 100 50 4 6 5 8

Boring, alas.  I went with 250 = 5*50 and left it at that.

Round 7: O G F R V T R E I

I had FROG, GRIFTER, FORGET, FORGIVE, FORGIVER, and VERTIGO.

FORGIVER is the only eight.  The other sevens are OVERFIT and ROTIFER (a type of microscopic animalcule).

Round 8: Target 136 from 100 3 1 7 2 6

I started with 136 = 100 + 6*(7 - 1), then noted an alternative of 136 = 100 + 2*3*6.

I chose this one, after being presented with something similar that I seem not to have written down.  Oh, well.
