NG 395

New game 395 is now available.

Round 1: S A R E E N I S G

My selection: ERASING
Best: REASSIGN

Round 2: T O G D E I O N A

My selection: GODETIA

Round 3: Target 951 from 75 4 3 10 7 1

My selection: 951 = (10 + 3)*75 - 4*(7 - 1)

Round 4: L C M U A T R E B

My selection: CALUMET

Round 5: E R S O C F I T R

I spotted TRIFORCES, but that was never a serious contender.  (Plus, of course, there's the issue of pluralisation even if TRIFORCE were valid.)

My selection: CROSIER
Best: FROSTIER

Round 6: Target 751 from 50 8 5 2 2 4

I was on the right track with the solution approach, but did not find the right variation of the factorisation until considerably after time.  It turns out that there is a unique solution to this.

My selection: 752 = (5 + 2)*(2*50 + 8) - 4  [1 off]
Best: 751 = (50 + 4)*(2*8 - 2) - 5

Round 7: I S D T H N E E M

My selection: SEDIMENT

Round 8: Target 345 from 25 9 1 8 8 6

My selection: 345 = (25 - 1 - 8/8)*(9 + 6)

Round 9: DUNGEONER

Scrabble apparently allows DUNGEONER as a word, which is why I elected to use it for the conundrum presentation.

My selection: UNDERGONE (4.5s)

Oops, I meant 5 instead of 4 in round 6!

A very close-run game between the pair of you, with only round seven the difference! And particularly good results to find the eight-letter words in round 5 -- well done!
